To more accurately convey Senua’s state, the developers brought in Cambridge University consultant professor Paul Fletcher; Archival psychiatric documents from the 1960s, containing the personal experience of people in the early stages of psychosis, were used for the study. Fletcher’s ideas were used to introduce disturbing and frightening details into the game. The developers’ task was to create an atmosphere of anxiety, when the player – like Senua herself – would see in the most innocent images prescience of something scary.<br />
